Angkor Eye Ferries Wheel to Open on March, 1

Siem Reap, a gateway to Angkor's temples in Cambodia, will see the grand opening of a ferris wheel which will enhance travellers' experience in the province, the Siem Reap Department of Tourism reports.

The construction of the ferries wheel cost USD7.2 million and was carried out by a Japanese firm.

The ferries wheel is located in Svay Dangkum Commune and financed by Angkor Eye Company Limited. 

Called Angkor Eye, the new ferries wheel weighs over 700 tons and is 85 metres high what makes it the thirs highest in the Southeast Asia after the 165 m Singapore Flyer in Singapore and the 155 m Sun Wheel in Da Nang, Vietnam. 48 baskets of the ferries wheel will be able to accommodate up to 192 people.
The project was laucnhed on 30 June 2019, with permission from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. The grand opening of Angkor Eye is scheduled to take place on March, 1, 2020.

Many major tourist destinations across the globe feature ferries wheels on the list of their attractions. Ferries wheels proved to be a big draw for tourists who like to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city.
