Mount Huangshan Scenic Area Offers Half-Priced Tickets in February

The Mount Huangshan Scenic Area, a part of a mountain range in southern Anhui province in eastern China, will offer visitors half-price tickets during the month of February to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its recogition as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In February, entrance fee to the Mount Huangshan Scenic Area for domestic visitors will be reduced to RMB95. Discounted tickets for foreign visitors will be available at Ciguangge and Yungu ticket booths. World heritage experts will get free admission and free cableway ride during the whole month.

Mount Huangshan is known as 'the loviliest mountain of China'. Its scenery has been inspiring Chinese artists, writers and poets for centuries. It continues to fascinate today's visitors with its many granite peaks and rocks emerging out of a sea of clouds.

On December 12, 1990, Huangshan, or Yellow Mountain Scenic Area, was recognized by UNESCO as the World's Heritage Site. It is also the National AAAAA Class Scenic Spot of China famous for its five wonders – peculiar pines, rare-looking rocks, seas of clouds, hot springs, and winter snow.

The gateway to the Mount Huangshan Scenic Area is the City of Huangshan, an hour's drive from the main park entrance. Huangshan is easily reached overland from Hefei or Nanjing in the north or Nanchang in the west. There is also a high speed train service from Shanghai Hongqiao station to Huangshan North twice a day.
