Taichung Gets Ready for 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival

Over 350 performances are scheduled in Taichung for the 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival with 109 shows to take place on the main stage in Taichung's Houli Forest Park. Have you booked your ticket to Taichung yet?

The 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival will be celebrated between February 8 and 23. Taichung alone will host more than 350 performances by well-known Taiwanese and overseas groups.

Seven stages across the city are prepared for the festival with the main stage set in Houli Forest Park, where 109 different acts are scheduled. Some of them are Diabolo Dance Theatre, Sizhukong Jazz Band, Taiwu Ancient Ballads Troupe, PawPaw Drum Band, South Korea’s Croquiky Brothers, and groups from Japan’s Nagano and Aomori prefectures.

For independent international travellers visiting any of the events related to the 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taichung City between Feb 8–23 special gifts are prepared. These include a small 2020 handheld lantern, a small limited-edition gift and a viewing-stand ticket (valid for any performance excluding the opening and closing ceremonies). If you are visiting Taichung during this period, you can collect your gifts in Houli exhibition area in Taichung City. To do so, you will need to show your passport or Taiwan entry document.
