Cinnamon Air Now Flies between Cultural Triangle and Southern Coast in Sri Lanka

Travel between destinations in the cultural triangle in Sri Lanka and the country's southern coast boasting some of the best beaches will be a whisk this winter with Cinnamon Air introducing a batch of new direct routes.

Daily scheduled air routes effective from December, 15, now connect two UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, the Ancient City of Sigiriya and the Sacred City Kandy with destinations in the south of the island – Hambantota (also serving Yala), Koggala (also serving Galle) and Dickwella (also serving Tangalle). Flying to/from Sigiriya is convenient for travellers visiting Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla, and Habarana, too.

Travelling by road from the cultural triangle and the hill country to the coastal cities in the South requires between 6 and 8 hours. Flying will slash travel time to mere 45 minutes. While roads in Sri Lanka are notorious for heavy congestion, not only will flying allow to beat the traffic and save time but also admire stunning aerial views along the way.

Flights from Sigiriya and Kany are scheduled around noon or in the early afternoon allowing tourists to plan early morning excursions.

Cinnamon Air is a Sri Lankan domestic airline based in Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. It has a codeshare agreement with SriLankan Airlines. Other domestic destinations served by Cinnamon Air include Batticaloa, Kotte, Trincomalee, Bentota.
