No More VOAs to Oman

Oman stopped issuing Visas on Arrival since the beginning of November – now foreign tourists who wish to visit the country should apply for their tourist visas in adnavce.

Earlier, it was possible to get a VOA at the border between the UAE and Oman what facilitated the travel process for many tourists who combined visiting Oman with the UAE. Now no more VOAs are provided to the visitors of all countries.

The Oman police declared that the objective behind making e-visas compulsory is facilitation of visitors' processing at the border posts.

E-visas to Oman can be applied for at the official online government portal. Visitors are asked to upload the copy of their passport and transfer 5 Omani Rials (USD13) to submit their application. The whole process takes up to four working days. Unsponsored tourists evisas allow visitors to stay in the country for up tp 10 days.

Citizens from 71 countries are eligible for applying for online evisas to Oman. These include the members of the European Union, Australia and the USA among others. Citizens of the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia can enjoy a visa-free entry to Oman.
