Lao Airlines to Launch Two Routes to Japan

Lao Airlines has received a green light from the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau to launch two new routes between Laos and Japan.

Effective from March, 18, the airline will fly from the Lao capital of Vientiane and the UNESCO Heritage Site and a popular city of Luang Prabang to the Japanese city of Kumamoto.

VientianeKumamoto route will be served twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday. The route between Luang Prabang and Kumamoto will be operated two times a week, too, on Monday and Friday. For both routes the airline will use their Airbus A320 aircraft accommodating up to 158 passengers.

It is rumored that Lao Airlines is going to apply for the approval to launch more new routes to Japan soon.

Earlier this year, Booking.com Japan named Vientiane one of the best seven cities in the world for city walks together with Trois-Rivières in Canada, Orenburg in Russia, Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, Daegu in South Korea, Vienna in Austria, Culiacán in Mexico. The booking website also  mentioned the growing popularity of the destinations in Laos among Japanese travellers.
