Travellers from APAC Book in Advance and Spend More

According to Hotelbeds, a travel technology company that operates a hotel distribution platform accessed by travel agents, tour operators, airlines and loyalty programs to make hotel bookings for their customers, the Asia–Pacific is their fastest-growing region.

Hotelbeds’ sales in APAC account for about 20 percent of all the sales for hoteliers around the world. Besides, almost 90% of Hotelbeds' customers in APAC are high-value sources of bookings for hotels. They include retail travel agents, tour operators, airlines, and points redemption schemes.

Customers from APAC usually book much in advance, show very low cancellation rates, are ready to pay more for a room, spend and tip more in destination, and tend to return more frequently.

Rather unsurprisingly, China has moved up to occupy the fourth line for Hotelbeds among biggest global source markets. Other important source destinations in APAC are Thailand, Australia, India, and Japan – all of these countries are listed in the top 20 sources markets of the company worldwide.

In recent years tourists from Asia–Pacific have significantly expanded international geography of their travel. They also tend to travel more often, much further than before and spend more than other tourists. For European and American hotels Asians are great guests who are ready to spend and stay longer.

To further study requirements and needs of their APAC partners, Hotelbeds will hold their second MarketHub Asia in Bali on October, 22-25.
