Universal Beijing Resort Scheduled to Open in Spring 2021

The largest Universal theme park & resort in the world is set to open in Beijing, China, in 2021.

Universal Beijing Resort project was announced back in 2014 and was scheduled to open in 2019. Currently the project is still under construction and the new date for its completion is set for spring 2021. 

The new resort project will be located in Beijing's Tongzhou District and will cover an area of 400 hectares including 54 hectares allocated for Universal Studios Beijing. The themed park will feature attractions and rides of Universal's biggest productions. There will be seven themed zones surrounding a lake including Waterworld, Kung Fu Panda, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Minions/Despicable Me, Transformers, Hollywood and Jurassic Park. There will be two hotels within the resort project as well – The Universal Studios Grand Hotel and the NUO Resort Hotel - Universal Beijing Resort. 

Universal Beijing Resort will help boost the movie industry and tourism in Beijing and in China. When completed, the park will become the fifth Universal Studios-branded theme park in the world, the seventh Universal-built park overall, and the third in Asia, after Universal Studios Japan located in Osaka and Universal Studios Singapore.
