Beer Festival Is On in Qingdao Right Now

The Golden Beach Beer City of Qingdao is virtually flooded with beer these days as the 24-day annual Beer Festival is at its height. The event has started on July 26 and will run till August 18.

This year, the festival is held for the 29th time. It attracts thousands of beer lovers from around the globe. While the Qingdao Beer Festival is less known than its counterpart from Munich, it is nevertheless quite a large-scale event supported by a number of cities across the globe, including Munich, Denver, and Toronto that held their own beer festivals, too. The aim of the festival is to promote tourism and support the brewing industry.

Qingdao festival celebrates over 1400 types of beer by popular brands like Canada's Russell Brewing Company or South Korea's Jeju. The famous local brand, Tsingtao, is heavily featured. Anything – from pilsners to stouts and porters to Langyatai is offered.

The best destination for craft beer fans during the days of the festival is Phoenix Bar Street where more than 30 bars pour out beers of high quality. 

To allow families enjoy the festival, Moreover, a 10,000 m2 playground is prepared for kids.
