Singapore to Host 26th Edition of SFF in July

Singapore's annual eclectic food extravaganza, Singapore Food Festival (SFF), is returning this year in July, from 12th till 28th. An array of exciting food-related activities will be held in different locations throughout the city.

The signature event of the festival, STREAT, is the place to indugle in both Singapore’s traditional food and ‘mod-Sin’ (or modern Singaporean) cuisine. Besides STREAT, there is another great sub-event not to miss out. Called 'The 50 Cents Fest', it focuses on iconic local dishes sold in denominations of S$0.50. Let us repeat it again: not to miss out!

This year it is the 26th edition of SFF. Expect the top chefs, culinary innovation and unique flavours all together showcased in the frames of the festival. The program of the event features a variety of food related activities, from chef collaborations to workshops and more. As it is also the year of Singapore’s Bicentennial celebrations, it gives an additional very festive twist to the whole event.

In case you are not sure which local dishes to try during the festival, start with Singapore's national dish – chili crab. This dish managed to get into the world's best 50 dishes list ranked by CNN. Worth trying are Hainanese chicken (originating from Hainan province of China), Nasi lemak (of Malaysian origin), Otak-Otak and Bak Kut Teh. Enjoy!
