Batik Air Launches Direct Flights from Samarinda to Bali, Yogyakarta

In order to support the East Kalimantan's tourism efforts, Batik Air, a full-service airline from Indonesia and a subsidiary of low-cost Lion Air carrier, launched direct flights from Samarinda to Denpasar, Bali, and Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, effective from June, 1.

Samarinda–Denpasar flights depart from Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto International Airport at 9 am and arrive to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar at 10.45 am. In the opposite direction, the departure time is 3.10 pm and the arrival time to the capital of East Kalimantan is 4.40 pm. The duration of the flight in each direction is one hour 40 minutes.

Samarinda–Kulon Progo flights take off at 5.20 pm and land at Yogyakarta Yogyakarta International Airport in Kulon Progo at 6 pm with the return flight scheduled for 5.30 am to arrive in Samarinda at 8.15 am. Flying time in each direction is also one hour 40 minutes.

Both routes are served by an Airbus 320-200CEO aircraft accommodating 12 business class seats and 144 economy class seats. 

Batik Air also expects increase in passenger numbers on the air company's connecting flights from Samarina to other destinations country-wide via Denpasar and Kulon Progo.
