A New Movie Theme Park to Appear in Haikou

Haikou, the capital city of China's Hainan province, will soon get a new theme park featuring movie characters from around the world. The first stage of this new theme park is expected to open in the course of three years in 2022.

100 countries will be allocated space in the park to display their movie history. There will be film screenings in each country's gallery to make visitors acquainted with their achievements in cinema world. It is expected that the grounds of the park will be used for film production and promotion, too.

Another movie-related piece of news from Haikou: in June, for the first time the city will host an international short film competition. 100 short film production teams of up to five people each from different parts of the world have already confirmed their participation in the event. The competitors will have one week for shooting and production of a short film in the same location. Ten winners will then have a chance to have their creations screened in cinemas.

Hainan is the go-to destination for those who want a slow, relaxing tropical paradise in which to unwind. It’s world famous beaches are in pristine condition, making it an ideal destination for beach goers, water sports enthusiasts and all lovers of seafood. Haikou, the capital and the most populous city of Hainan, attracts tourists with its Old City full of fascinating glimpses into the French history filled with beautiful French colonial houses that have been expertly restored to their former glory.
