Join IRCTC's Enchanting Kerala Package or Explore Kerala on Your Own

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has prepared a new packaged tour for those who want to explore the wonders of Kerala. Named 'Enchanting Kerala', this 6 days/5 nights tour departs on May, 11, but you can tailor-make your own journey following the same route.

Start your adventure in Cochin. Visit Marine Drive in the evening for a boat ride and spend the night in Cochin.

Take a bus or a taxi from Cochin to Munnar (about 4 hours). A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, Munnar is surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations. Eravikulam National Park,Munnar's prime attarction, is home to the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr and features the Lakkam Waterfalls, numerous hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak. Spend two days in Munnar and then head to Thekkady.

Thekkady is reached from Munnar via a 4-hours bus or taxi ride. The famous Periyar National Park spread across 777 km2 is located here. Hordes of wild elephants, deer and bison are often spotted here.

Another 135 km and 4 hours by bus or taxi bring you from Thekkady to Kumarakom near the city of Kottayam and famous for its backwater tourism. Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in the state of Kerala, forms a breathtaking backdrop for Kumarakom

Finish your round trip in Cochin. It is only 64 km|1.5 hours away from Kumarakom.
