Two New Bangkok Airways' Air Routes from Chiang Mai Officially Launched

Announced earlier this year, two new routes by Bangkok Airways from Chiang Mai are now fully operational. Now you can fly direct from Chiang Mai to Krabi, in the south of Thailand, and to Luang Prabang, in Laos.

Service to Krabi started on March, 31. It is one-way operation with no Krabi–Chinag Mai flights planned yet. In April, three flights a week are scheduled, on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Staring from April, 30, flights from Chiang Mai to Krabi will be operated on a daily bases. Flights will depart Chiang Mai International Airport at noon and reach Krabi International airport at 1.55 pm, thus taking slightly under two hours to complete their journey. The driving distance between the two destinations is 1465 km.

Operations on Chiang MaiLuang Prabang route started yeasterday, April, 2. There are three flights weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The route is served by a 70-seater aircraft. The departure time from Chiang Mai is 4.30 pm, the arrival time to Luang Prabang is 5.45 pm. In the opposite direction, flights take off from Luang Prabang at 6.30 pm and land in Chiang Mai at 7.45 pm. The overland distance between Chiang Mai and Luang Prabang is 730 km.
