TAT Updates Information on Admission to Mu Ko Similan National Park

There are four entry points where admission fees to the Mu Ko Similan National Park are collected. The main location is the the Park’s Office on the mainland. It is found in the village of Thap Lamu. The other three locations are all on the islands of the archipelago. You can reach either of them only by boat. They are Park Ranger Unit 1 Ko Mieng, Park Ranger Unit 2 Ko Similan and Park Ranger Unit 3 Ko Tachai.

The admission fee to Mu Ko Similan National Park for foreign visitors no matter whether they held work permit or Thai driving licence is THB500 and THB300 adult/child respectively.
In an effort to allow marine life of the national park to rehabilitate, daily limits were set to control the number of visitors. All the tour operators are required to notify the park authorities of the number of visitors they are planning to bring to the Similans one day in advance. The notification request is set for the period from March, 21 till May, 15 this year. There are different limits for destinations within the park.

Ko Si – Ko Paet islands – 1,625 visitors a day maximum.Ko Paet – Ko Si islands – 1,700 visitors a day maximum.The number of divers is limited to 525 visitors a day with only approved boats allowed to enter the waters of the Mu Ko Similan National Park.

In June, 2018, the Similans were closed for overnight stays and the ban remains in force.
