Phuket Airport has been busy as never before

While Phuket experiences a tourist boom its Airport doesn’t cope with the number of passengers. The Phuket Airport Authority said, that it should be expanded as soon as possible.

While Phuket experiences a tourist boom its Airport doesn’t cope with the number of passengers. The Phuket Airport Authority said, that it should be expanded as soon as possible.

Separate is issued the problem of public transport from the Airport. Usually passengers have to pay through the nose for a taxi.

The planned Phuket Airport capacity was 6 million travellers per year, but in 2013 it served more that 10 million. The Airport's expanding plan will cost 5,7 million baht. It includes the construction of a new passenger terminal by 2016 year.
