Railways of Thailand to be renovated

The State Railway of Thailand will start total renovation directed by the Transport Ministry. Primarily the old Ratchathani Hotel at the main train station in Bangkok, Hua Lamphong station will be revived.

The State Railway of Thailand will start total renovation directed by the Transport Ministry. “It would generate revenue for the cash-strapped agency”, the Transport Minister Chadchart Suttipunt said.

Primarily the old Ratchathani Hotel at the main train station in Bangkok, Hua Lamphong station will be revived. The plan of wide-ranging improvements to facilities also includes renewal of lighting, platform areas and ticketing systems. According to the Ministry, each station would be unique and represent the local cultural features.

The date of renovation’s start is still unknown.
