First Lion Air's branch to be opened in Thailand

The main low cost carrier of Indonesia, Lion Air is going to launch its first budget affiliate in Thailand. The great opening will happen up to the end of this year.


The main low cost carrier of Indonesia, Lion Air is going to launch its first budget affiliate in Thailand. The great opening will happen up to the end of this year.

The airline should become a serious competitor of two Thai’s main low cost airlines: Thai Air Asia and Nok Air, Thai Airways' low-cost affiliate.

Lion Air will initially offer two international and one domestic flight, which will be operated by two 737-900ERs. The first routes of Lion Air in Thailand will be: BangkokJakarta, Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok-Chiang Mai. All of them will depart from Don Mueang Airport.
